Description
Sakura at Sunrise: The cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin in Washington, DC were planted in 1912 as a gift from Japan and took about 15 years to mature, and now their drooping branches make a wonderful frame for just about any type of picture. This photo was taken just after sunrise, and my advice to anyone aspiring to capture these trees at their most amazing would do well to avoid the throngs of photographers closer to the MLK monument and head towards those on the opposite side of the rising sun. The trees catch the light and for a few minutes glow with an incandescent beauty.
